Attack on Ukrainian aircraft: further drone and explosives discovered in Saxony-Anhalt

More drones used in attack on Ukrainian aircraft than initially known

More drones were apparently deployed in the failed attack on a Ukrainian cargo aircraft near Leipzig-Halle airport than initially assumed. According to joint information from the Süddeutsche Zeitung, NDR and WDR, investigators found another drone as well as additional explosives near the scene of the incident.

The discovery was made in Kabelsketal, a small municipality in the Saalekreis district of Saxony-Anhalt not far from Halle and Leipzig. The region had previously attracted little nationwide attention.

According to security circles, the attack is part of a series of hybrid operations with which Moscow is increasingly putting pressure on Germany. Calls for a decisive response from the German federal government to the Kremlin are growing louder. In this context, Putin's so-called shadow fleet is also coming into the focus of the authorities.
