Berlin lawyer charged over punches against colleague in court
A 33-year-old Berlin lawyer faces court proceedings for assault and defamation. He is alleged to have attacked a rival lawyer in the courtroom.

According to rbb24.de, the Berlin prosecution authority has charged a 33-year-old lawyer with assault, attempted aggravated assault and defamation. The man is alleged to have struck a rival colleague repeatedly with his fists without apparent reason during a mediation hearing at the labour court in June 2025.
Furthermore, the defendant is said to have picked up a chair and made a throwing motion towards the colleague. The attacked lawyer managed to escape into the judge's consultation room.
In a further allegation, the lawyer is said to have sent a demeaning sexually explicit message to his own client via chat in December 2025.
According to the prosecution authority, the defendant remains silent on the assault charges and denies the defamation allegation.
