Berlin knife attack in Hellersdorf: Woman injures friend after argument

Dispute escalates to knife attack

At around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning, police and fire services responded to the Berlin district of Hellersdorf. A woman had stabbed her friend with a kitchen knife following an argument with him. The man sustained a deep wound to his upper arm and was bleeding heavily.

First responders applied a tourniquet to the injured man on site to stop the bleeding. The emergency service then took over treatment and transported him to a hospital for care. The man sat wrapped in a hood and blanket on the stretcher in the fire service's ambulance.

According to BILD, a breath test showed the woman had an alcohol level below 0.1 per cent. Police seized the knife. The man returned to the flat later, as did the woman. Police are investigating the knife attack. A spokesman for the Berlin police initially made no statement regarding the exact age of the couple.
