Shooting at Hamburg courtyard: two dead, underworld connections in focus

A group of eight to ten men, some of them masked, entered a courtyard on Lagerstraße in Hamburg-St. Pauli on Tuesday evening. Shortly afterwards, two men lay dead. This is shown in footage that ndr.de was able to view.

On the car park, a 47-year-old died—according to NDR information, from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. In the adjacent building, police found a 33-year-old who had been shot in the head. He is said to have still been holding a weapon in his hand. The public prosecutor's office declined to comment on this when asked by NDR. A third man drove himself to a hospital with a grazing wound to the head.

In addition to the murder squad, the State Office of Criminal Investigation for Organised Crime is now also investigating the case. According to investigators, there had previously been a smouldering dispute in the criminal underworld. A hand grenade had exploded on the same premises at the end of June.
