Convicted quintuple murderer on the run since 1999

For 25 years, Dortmund police have been searching for Norman Volker Franz – one of the city's most wanted criminals. As reported by polizei.nrw, Franz fled from a Portuguese prison in 1999 where he was imprisoned for five murders. To date, he has not been apprehended.

In addition to Franz, police have released wanted photographs for numerous other Dortmund cases. These include three current cases involving attempted homicides. Many of the other wanted individuals have caused their victims economic or psychological harm – for example through pickpocketing or computer fraud.

The most recent wanted notice (as of 29 July) shows three youths who are alleged to have been on the top level of the car park at the Klinikum car park on Hohe Strasse on 11 June. According to police, they threw glass bottles at vehicles and pedestrians from there.
