Raid against suspected drug ring

According to ruhrnachrichten.de, Dortmund police conducted a raid on Tuesday, 7 July, against suspected weapons and drug dealers. Investigators searched eight properties: five apartments, two storage halls and a snack bar in Dortmund and Lünen, as the Dortmund Public Prosecutor's Office announced.

During the searches, officers arrested a 37-year-old Turkish national. An arrest warrant had been issued against him on suspicion of commercial weapons and cocaine trafficking. None of the persons involved was injured in the operation.

Investigations into the suspected gang have been ongoing since mid-2025. For this purpose, the police headquarters established a Special Organisational Structure (BAO) – a temporary operational framework for coordinating complex operations. There had already been searches in this case on 26 June, when investigators seized 62 handguns in an apartment.
