Investigation against JP Kraemer resumed – assault and property damage

Criminal complaint from Kraemer's soon-to-be ex-wife triggers resumption of proceedings

The Dortmund public prosecutor's office is investigating tuning YouTuber Jean Pierre "JP" Kraemer again, as reported by 20 Minuten. Proceedings on suspicion of assault and property damage had initially been discontinued – now a lawyer for Kraemer's soon-to-be ex-wife Julia Meck (25) has filed a criminal complaint, resulting in the resumption of the case.

The case originated from a police operation at the couple's shared residence following a dispute. Subsequently, proceedings were initiated against both parties. Initially, both Kraemer and Meck refrained from filing charges. The public prosecutor's office saw no particular public interest in prosecution and discontinued proceedings against the 45-year-old. The criminal complaint that has now been filed has changed the legal situation.

Kraemer had already publicly addressed the allegations in several videos at the end of August. In doing so, he admitted to physical assaults on his wife: during an argument, he had torn a chain from her neck and struck her with the flat of his hand. "Even with the flat of my hand was wrong," Kraemer said in his statement. In another video of an older altercation shown by him, Kraemer claimed to show himself grabbing Meck by the neck, pushing her aside and pulling her hair once.

Kraemer disputes other allegations or describes the conflicts differently from his soon-to-be ex-wife. For his part, he also made allegations of violence against Meck, which she rejected: she had merely wanted to free herself from an embrace during an altercation.

Parallel to the investigation, Kraemer has announced personal consequences. He stated he wished to give up his businesses, move in with his father for the time being and begin therapy. His business portfolio includes JP Performance and the Dortmund car museum PACE.

Julia Meck is also taking legal action: according to her lawyer, she has received murder and rape threats via social networks, against which she has initiated legal proceedings.
