Woman shot at Oberndorf railway station – man arrested
Following shots fired at Oberndorf railway station, a woman lies critically injured in hospital. Police have arrested the suspected perpetrator.
Shooting at railway station – major operation in Rottweil district
According to BILD, police in Oberndorf am Neckar arrested a man after a woman was shot at the railway station. The incident occurred on Monday evening at around 21:30.
Passers-by reported the shot in the area of the railway station. According to police spokesperson Tatjana Deggelmann, emergency physicians and rescue services treated the injured woman after the railway station was secured. The woman underwent emergency surgery and is in critical condition.
During the search for the fleeing perpetrator, emergency responders deployed patrol cars, a police helicopter and search dogs. The suspected perpetrator was identified and arrested in the course of these measures – apparently near a supermarket.
Criminal police in Rottweil have taken over the investigation. Police are currently releasing no further information regarding the victim, perpetrator, circumstances or motive.
