Woman's body found in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg: Murder squad appeals for witnesses
A 46-year-old woman was found dead in a bush near the Zeiss Planetarium in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district. Police believe she may have been murdered and are appealing for information.

A passer-by discovered a woman's body in a bush near the Zeiss Grand Planetarium in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district on Friday morning. According to reports, the victim is a 46-year-old woman. Police and prosecutors are treating the case as a possible homicide.
"Initial examinations of the body, which must have been lying there for some time, suggest a homicide," police and prosecutors said in a joint statement. Authorities have identified the woman; however, no information is yet available regarding circumstances or a possible perpetrator.
A murder commission from the State Criminal Police (LKA) has taken over the investigation. On Sunday, investigators released an appeal for witnesses, including a photograph of the deceased.
Police are directing the following questions to the public: "Who saw the woman alone or accompanied in the area of the green space? Who can provide information about the deceased's last known whereabouts? Who can provide any other relevant information for the investigation?"
The woman is described as approximately 1.70 metres tall and of slim build. At the time she was found, she was wearing a brown sweatjacket, a brown T-shirt, and a striped short cloth skirt. Information is being accepted by the 4th Murder Commission.
