A Romanian citizen was arrested in the Baden-Württemberg city. The man is suspected of having worked on founding a far-right extremist organisation since the beginning of 2023. The group's aim was reportedly to carry out a coup in Romania and establish a new Nazi state.
The public prosecutor's office assumes that the accused ran two communication channels for the purpose of recruiting members. He used these via a German messaging service. The channels were reportedly aimed primarily at young Romanians.
The arrested man is alleged to have called upon subscribers and participants to commit various crimes. These included painting graffiti with far-right symbols, inciting young girls towards self-harm, arson attacks on buildings housing migrants or LGBTQ+ persons, and the killing of so-called "subhuman" individuals.
He also shared instructions for the manufacture of poison and explosives as well as the production of Molotov cocktails and the placement of explosives in vehicles. For this reason, he is also being accused of attempting to found a foreign terrorist association, the public prosecutor's office announced.
The prosecution also accuses him of serious preparation for violence, which could potentially endanger the state. At the time of the alleged crimes, the arrested man was between 18 and 20 years old.
