The unidentified perpetrators targeted exclusively multi-family buildings in Riemekeviertel and Südstadt. On Riemeke Street, Kilian Street and Bodelschwingh Street as well as Im Samtfelde, they gained access from the night of Friday to Saturday to six multi-family buildings. There they broke into at least 39 cellar spaces. Items stolen included food and alcohol among other things.

At the same time, another break-in occurred in Höxter: several perpetrators smashed the shop window of a business in the city centre in the early hours of Saturday morning. A 26-year-old from the Holzminden district was provisionally arrested near the crime scene. He admitted to having been involved in the break-in.
