Cologne Regional Court has sentenced former child photographer Achim Lippoth to seven years imprisonment for serious sexual abuse.

Cologne Regional Court has sentenced former child photographer Achim Lippoth to seven years imprisonment for serious sexual abuse. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the panel found it proven that the 57-year-old abused a ten-year-old boy in 2002 during a trip to a photoshoot in Sardinia.
In two further cases involving former photo models, Lippoth was acquitted. The court found that the defendant had exercised paedosexual inclinations over decades and exploited his professional position to acquire victims.
The retrial became necessary following a decision by the Federal Court of Justice. Lippoth has been serving a prison sentence in North Rhine-Westphalia since August of last year.
The photographer had worked for nearly all major media outlets and fashion brands over decades. His speciality was photographs of children; he was regarded internationally as a recognised name in the industry.
