Child witnesses in Fabian murder trial (8): Sightings contradict investigative findings
Three children testified at Rostock Regional Court that they saw Fabian on the alleged date of the crime – despite investigators determining he was already dead by then.

Child witnesses cast doubt on established course of events
On the 26th day of proceedings in the murder trial of eight-year-old Fabian at Rostock Regional Court, three minor witnesses testified – at the request of the defence. According to Google News CH — Crime (de), their observations do not appear to align with the current investigative findings: Fabian is said to have already been dead at the times they mentioned.
The questioning of the witnesses took place in a separate room via video link. "Their questioning will, as is known from previous questioning of child witnesses, take place from a separate room with video support," court spokesperson Anne Kruse was quoted by "Bild".
Two of the minor witnesses stated they had seen Fabian on 10 October 2025 – the established date of the crime – at around 13:30 outside Marktbäckerei Hornung in Güstrow. One of the two, a ten-year-old boy, however expressed doubt about the exact date. "I think it was a bit more of a Friday," the boy said in court – referring to 10 October, which was a Friday.
At around the same time, another witness reported already observing smoke clouds near Klein Upahl. Fabian's body was burned at a pond in that region.
Around an hour later, at approximately 14:30, a girl claimed to have seen the eight-year-old on Schweriner Strasse – the boy's residential address. Two men are said to have followed him and increased their pace as soon as Fabian walked faster. According to "Bild", the girl only knew Fabian by sight and came forward to police independently.
The suspect Gina H. was to testify in court again on Thursday. According to "Bild", a further two pages are to be added to her previously 95-page statement.
