According to ndr.de, customs investigators apprehended two suspected drug smugglers last week at the Ohe Ost rest stop on the A7 in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district. The officers found cocaine with a street value of approximately €80,000 in their vehicle.
The 30-year-old Dane and his equally aged Danish companion were pulled over during a routine check. In the boot, customs officers initially found five sealed plastic bags containing an unidentified substance. The couple claimed it was a baking ingredient from a Dutch bakery. However, analysis revealed that the substance was a cutting agent for cocaine.
A drug sniffer dog subsequently detected another package beneath the cover of a child seat: it contained nearly 1.2 kilograms of cocaine. A judge then issued an arrest warrant against the 30-year-old. His companion was released on bail.
