Officers from the Saalekreis police station conducted a check on a man on a bicycle in the Frankleben district of Braunsbedra in the early morning hours of 26 June 2026. The incident occurred around half past one in the morning.
During the inspection, the 52-year-old opened his shoulder bag and showed the officers its contents. Inside was a plastic bag with a crystalline material. The police officers seized the item, as there was suspicion that it could be illegal drugs.
The person affected, a 52-year-old Syrian national, must now answer for suspicion of a violation of the Narcotics Act. The investigators have initiated criminal proceedings. Further details about the case are not currently known.
