The Saudi perpetrator who drove a car into the Christmas market in Magdeburg at the end of 2024 has been sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday. The attack killed six people and injured more than 300 others.
The court in Magdeburg (Saxony-Anhalt) also established the particular gravity of the guilt of Taleb Jawad al-Abdulmohsen. It ordered preventive detention, as the public prosecutor had requested. This measure allows for review of whether the convicted person must remain in custody after serving the minimum term of imprisonment.
