Machete and sickle in Schwabing-Freimann: Two brothers in court
Following a bloody group altercation in Munich, two brothers are appearing before the regional court – with security measures akin to those in a terrorism trial.
Street battle in Munich: Trial with high-security measures
According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, a violent confrontation between two groups took place last summer in the Munich district of Schwabing-Freimann. According to the prosecution's indictment, two brothers attacked their rivals from Hasenbergl in the street – armed with a machete and a sickle. One of the attackers pierced the arm of an opponent; in the end, two 19-year-olds lay severely injured on the ground.
The brothers now stand before the court. The security measures for the trial resemble those of a terrorism proceeding. A motive for the attack has not yet been clearly established.
In parallel, another case is being heard before the Munich I regional court: 40-year-old Vladimir F. is accused of large-scale drug trafficking. Investigators suspect the defendant is behind an internationally active organisation.
