Male body discovered in car park near Lenggries – Weilheim criminal police investigating
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a dead man was found at the B307 near the Sylvensteinspeicher. The identity and circumstances of death remain unclear.
Body found on B307: police seek witnesses
A passer-by discovered a male body on a car park on the Bundesstraße 307 near Lenggries in the night into Sunday at around 1.25 a.m. The car park is located approximately 400 metres north of the Sylvensteinbrücke, also known as Faller Bridge. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Weilheim criminal police inspectorate has taken over the investigation.
Officers from Bad Tölz police inspectorate responded immediately, secured the discovery site and cordoned off the area widely. During the night, officers from the permanent criminal investigation duty and forensic specialists took up the investigation. These are being continued under the direction of the Munich II state prosecutor's office by specialist department 1 of the Weilheim criminal police inspectorate.
A forensic examination was carried out at the Institute for Forensic Medicine on Sunday midday. The autopsy revealed that death had "natural causes", according to a police spokesman speaking to the SZ – there are no indications of violent death. However, officers have reason to assume that the man died elsewhere and was subsequently brought to the car park. The man's age is estimated at 60 to 80 years. Who he is remains unknown so far.
Due to the investigation, the B307 was temporarily completely closed on Sunday, leading to considerable traffic disruptions. The closure was lifted on Sunday midday; the federal highway has been freely passable since then.
Police are asking the public for information: anyone who can provide details about the identity of the deceased or who made observations during the night of Saturday into Sunday in the area of the B307 between Fall and the junction to the B13 should contact the Weilheim criminal police inspectorate on telephone number 0881/6400 or another police station.
