At the Heinrich-von-Kleist secondary school in Frankfurt/Oder, several pupils brutally attacked a fellow pupil. Police are investigating ten suspects aged 13 to 15 years old.

Brutal school attack in focus of investigators
According to BILD, at least six pupils attacked a fellow pupil at the entrance of the Heinrich-von-Kleist secondary school in Frankfurt/Oder. The group struck and kicked the boy, even as he lay on the ground. Onlookers encouraged the attackers; video material documented the incident.
The injured pupil reported the matter to police on Wednesday and showed facial injuries. A police spokesman told BILD: "Currently ten suspects are in the focus of investigators." The alleged perpetrators are between 13 and 15 years old. The investigation is directed against Germans, Poles, Russians and Syrians on suspicion of assault and robbery.
Shortly after the incident, police arrested several suspects on school premises. Footage of the attack was secured as evidence. Criminal police are currently examining further evidence and working on the definitive identification of the perpetrators.
Mayor Axel Strasser (49, independent) reacted on social media with disbelief: "There are images that will not let go of you." He announced that he would work with police to draw consequences from the incident. He offered support to the boy's family. Strasser simultaneously appealed for the video not to be shared further, in order to protect the victim's dignity.
Prevention coach Carsten Stahl expressed concern about the incidents: "Such brutal acts of violence at schools are the consequence of violence and bullying being downplayed or ignored for years." Investigators are working on bringing the ten suspects to justice.
