As DER SPIEGEL (Justice & Crime) reports, a 31-year-old Irish citizen was attacked with a knife and fatally injured at the station in Upper Bavaria's Rosenheim in the night from Saturday to Sunday. According to the police, the attack occurred at 0:50.

The woman was taken to a clinic but succumbed to her severe injuries there. The police corrected an earlier statement on request: the victim is not a British national but an Irish citizen.

Federal police officers arrested a prime suspect immediately after the deed. This is a 27-year-old German man from Fürstenfeldbruck district who had no fixed place of residence. The man's homelessness and the victim's nationality were first reported by the "Bild" newspaper.

The circumstances and motive for the deed are not yet known. The police are searching for witnesses who observed a dispute or the attack at the station on the night of the incident.
