Unsolved stabbing murder: New leads in case of killed jogger from Lampertheim

As Google News DE — Crime (de) reports, the murder of a 36-year-old jogger from Lampertheim (Bergstraße) will be featured again on Wednesday, 9 September, in the ZDF programme "Aktenzeichen XY". The Darmstadt Public Prosecutor's Office and the South Hesse Police Headquarters announced this jointly.

The woman was killed by stab wounds in Lampertheim Forest on 16 September 2024. The perpetrator and motive remain unknown to this day. After the act, the unknown assailant took the woman's mobile phone from her waistbag; the device was later found in the forest near Bürstadt.

Police established a murder commission with around 30 officers. DNA traces from a male person were secured from the body, but these could not be matched — a database search yielded no hits. In the course of the investigation, DNA samples were also taken from 1,300 people.

The investigators now wish to announce current leads in the programme and hope for the decisive clue. The Public Prosecutor's Office has also offered a reward of 5,000 euros for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. Wanted posters are to be put up in the vicinity of the crime scene and in neighbouring communities. Whether the investigators have a specific suspect in their sights remains unclear.

The case had already been shown on "Aktenzeichen XY" on 2 October 2024 — without leading to a resolution.
