Rostock murder trial: witness describes icy behaviour of Gina H. at discovery site
In the murder trial against Gina H., a witness described her shocking behaviour on the day the body of eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow was found.

Witness heavily incriminates defendant: no trembling, no tears at discovery site
On the 13th day of hearings in the murder trial before the Rostock Regional Court, a former acquaintance of defendant Gina H. gave detailed testimony about the day the body of eight-year-old Fabian was found, according to fr.de. The account paints a picture of a woman who showed no visible emotion at the site where the child was discovered.
Gina H., 30 years old, is accused of killing the boy from Güstrow on 10 October 2025 with six knife wounds and subsequently setting his body on fire.
Call in the early morning
The witness was woken by a call from the defendant on 14 October. "We found him. He is dead," Gina H. is said to have told her – according to the witness's testimony in court, as reported by fr.de citing the Stern. Significantly, the defendant had already discovered the body the day before and led two men to the site, but only informed police on 14 October. She told the authorities she had found the body "by chance".
When asked why she had not immediately contacted police, Gina H. reportedly responded dismissively. The acquaintance nevertheless drove with her and two dogs to the discovery site near Klein Upahl. The witness gave an emotional reason for her decision: "I thought, if I don't drive there now, then the little one will never be found. If they don't speak up." Thinking of Fabian's mother, she added: "I wouldn't want to experience that either if that were my child."
"So cold" – witness describes walk across the field
At the discovery site, the witness waited some distance away with her walker, while Gina H. walked purposefully across a field towards a pond. "Like a plan that has to be fulfilled. The way she walked down there was so cold and purposeful," the witness described the defendant's behaviour, as reported by fr.de citing Bild. Upon her return, Gina H. is said to have merely said: "He's still there. It looks worse."
According to the witness's account, the excursion was no accident. The defendant is said to have deliberately used the witness's dog to plant evidence at the discovery site – with a dog lead, the impression was to be created that the animal had broken free and found Fabian on its own. Gina H. is said to have even reported proudly that the dog had urinated next to the body of the boy.
Defendant shows no emotion – until police demand mobile phones
While the witness repeatedly struggled to maintain her composure in court, Gina H. showed no visible emotional reactions in the courtroom. She behaved similarly indifferently at the discovery site, according to the witness: "If I found the little one there... If I see that and then come back up and I'm so emotionless. I didn't realise much that day, but with some distance I would say that was cold."
The defendant showed emotion only when police officers at the discovery site demanded the surrender of mobile phones. According to the witness testimony, Gina H. refused to hand over her mobile phone and apparently became loud. "That was a total meltdown for me," the witness recalled, as reported by fr.de citing Bild. After that day, contact between the two women largely ceased.
Jealousy and violence allegations in the background
The witness and Gina H. lived in the same house, shared a love of horses and dogs, and regularly went for walks together. Behind this facade, however, the relationship between the defendant and Fabian's father Matthias R. is said to have been strained. Gina H. is said to have been extremely jealous: "If Matthias only looked at someone, she would say, don't look at her!" Additionally, Gina H. is said to have told the witness that she had been hit by Matthias R.
The defendant has not yet commented on the allegations. Her defence counsel announced that this would change in August. Gina H. is presumed innocent.
