Murder suspicion in Neuenbürg: 40-year-old arrested following discovery of body in car
In the Enz district, police have arrested a man aged 40 who is suspected of having killed a 41-year-old. The victim's body was discovered at the end of February in a parked vehicle in Neuenbürg.
On Wednesday morning, officers arrested the suspect in Neuenbürg. A judge in Pforzheim subsequently ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody. The suspect is now being held in a prison facility.
According to investigators, there was a "prior relationship" between the deceased and the arrested man. What made the man a suspect and what motive lay behind the act remains unclear so far. The exact cause of death was not disclosed.
The search operation on Wednesday encompassed seven properties – six in Neuenbürg and one flat in Pforzheim. Several dozen police officers and specialist units took part in the operation to secure evidence.
Following the discovery of the body on 25 February, police established a special commission called "Motor". The investigators secured approximately 200 pieces of evidence at the crime scene, evaluated video footage, and had the nearby Enz river searched by divers. In addition, a reward of up to €10,000 was offered for information.
