New lead: Trenoli bicycle in focus of investigators
A new tip has given the hunt for alleged power saboteur Daniel V. (48) an unexpected turn. As reported by BILD, investigators now assume that the wanted man is travelling by bicycle of the brand Trenoli, model Tazio Sportivo M, frame size 56 cm.
"There are several leads we are pursuing," said a spokesman for Cologne police. "Based on current findings, the wanted person could be travelling by a Trenoli brand bicycle." The investigators released a product photo of the model and are hoping for information from the public.
Daniel V. is believed to be behind a series of sabotage acts at substations in Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony. The authorities have been searching for him across Europe for several days. According to investigators' assessment, he could also be the author of a confession letter sent in connection with the attacks.
Initially, it was assumed that the 48-year-old was fleeing in a truck converted into a motorhome. The vehicle was spotted on Friday near Hambach Forest – a brown coal mining area between Aachen and Cologne. However, the suspect had already disappeared by that point.
Previously, investigators had searched the home of Daniel V. in Gevelsberg (North Rhine-Westphalia). The manhunt continues in full swing.
Anyone who recognises the man or can provide information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the police tip line around the clock on 0331-505950.
