Double homicide in Geretsried: arrest warrant issued against 19-year-old
Two bodies were discovered in a multi-family dwelling on Königsbergweg in Geretsried on Tuesday. According to BILD, the deceased are a 73-year-old woman and her 53-year-old son. Police and the public prosecutor's office are treating it as a homicide.
At around 11:10 a.m., the integrated emergency services centre was alerted due to a suspicious observation in the building. When officers arrived, the flat door was standing open – residents reported it appeared to be smeared with blood. Inside the rooms, emergency personnel found the two lifeless individuals; an emergency doctor could only confirm their death.
Both bodies showed clear signs of severe violence according to investigators. In the course of Tuesday, suspicion hardened against the 19-year-old grandson of the deceased. On Wednesday, an investigating judge issued an arrest warrant against the German national on suspicion of manslaughter.
Since then, a major operation has been underway around the residential building. Crime scene technicians in white protective suits are securing evidence, and numerous yellow evidence markers on the street outside the building indicate potential discovery sites. Evidence collection is expected to continue until Thursday.
Police and the public prosecutor's office have not yet commented on the background or possible motive for the act. Investigators are asking witnesses who made suspicious observations in the area of Königsbergweg since Monday evening to contact police.
