A man was killed by gunshots at a residential complex in Offenburg in the state of Baden-Württemberg. A woman suffered serious injuries and died later in hospital.
Police were alerted shortly after 09:00 local time after shots were reported at a residential facility. Upon arrival, officers found a dead male. A woman was lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards.
The area was cordoned off. A major police operation is underway, a police spokesman said. The identities of the two victims and the background to the incident remain unclear.
