Gun battle in Duisburg: more than ten shots, one injured, perpetrators at large
At least two men opened fire on each other on a main road in Duisburg. One person was treated for injuries and the perpetrators have fled.

More than ten shots were fired on the evening of a main road in Duisburg, according to BILD. At least two men are said to have shot at each other — projectiles struck several cars, shop windows and building façades. One injured person was treated by a paramedic in an ambulance.
Whether the injured person was involved in the gun battle or was hit by chance is still unclear according to investigators. He is said to have dragged himself several hundred metres away from the crime scene before collapsing. The hospital where he is being treated is being guarded by police as a precaution.
Police cordoned off the crime scene widely. Bullet holes and shattered windows were visible everywhere, and a cartridge lay on the street. A resident told BILD: "It's a miracle that more people weren't hit in this crazy shooting. It was like an action film, completely absurd, right in the middle of the street."
A murder commission from Duisburg Police is securing evidence at the crime scene and questioning witnesses. The perpetrator or perpetrators fled after the incident. Police searched with a large contingent for the fugitives, as they had apparently deployed firearms recklessly and were presumably still armed, according to investigators.
