Officers from Wolfsburg police arrested three men in the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt who are suspected of being behind two violent residential burglaries in Helmstedt. According to a report by NDR, the arrests were preceded on last Thursday by searches of flats, in which a special operations unit and officers from Saxony-Anhalt also participated.

In March of this year, the suspects are said to have broken into a residential building. There they allegedly threatened and slightly injured a resident and her care worker with a blade. The amount of money stolen was small.

As early as November of the previous year, the same perpetrators are said to have broken into another detached house while wearing masks. According to the report, a couple living there was considerably intimidated. In this crime too, the perpetrators stole valuables.

During the raids, investigators secured various pieces of evidence. The three arrested men are now in custody awaiting trial.
