German police have found incendiary and explosive devices at a transformer station near Jänschwalde. No one has been injured, and the perpetrators remain unknown.
Explosives and incendiary devices discovered at German power plant
German police have found multiple incendiary and explosive devices at a transformer station close to Jänschwalde in the state of Brandenburg, approximately two hours' drive from Berlin. This is reported by several German media outlets, including DW, according to Ekstra Bladet.
The devices were found in Turnow-Preilack after possible damage to a power line was detected on Tuesday. Police subsequently deployed explosives experts to the scene, whilst investigators secured evidence.
No persons have been injured, and police report that there was no immediate danger to the public. Not all of the devices had exploded when they were found.
German newspaper BILD reports that home-made rockets were used in connection with the attack on the transformer station, and that it allegedly involved pyrotechnics. However, police have not confirmed this information, but do confirm the discovery of what they describe as unconventional incendiary and explosive devices.
It remains unclear who is behind the incident and what the motive may have been.
