Fatal knife attack in Hamburg REWE supermarket: suspect surrenders to police
A man was stabbed to death in a Hamburg supermarket on Monday evening. The perpetrator surrendered to police at the scene.
Knife attack in Hamburg-Altona ends fatally
According to BILD, a fatal knife attack occurred on Monday evening at around 21:30 in the REWE supermarket on Stresemannstraße in Hamburg. Two men became involved in an argument inside the supermarket, whereupon one of them drew a combat knife and stabbed the other.
The victim, covered in blood, dragged himself out of the supermarket, where he collapsed and shortly afterwards died from his serious injuries. The attacker left the REWE with his hands raised and surrendered to police, who arrived at the scene only moments after the attack.
The weapon used in the attack was secured by officers. The scene was cordoned off over a wide area. The homicide squad has launched an investigation. A crisis intervention team was present at the scene to support witnesses to the incident.
