Dead man at car park near Lenggries identified: 64-year-old Romanian

Fingerprints lead to identity of dead man near Lenggries
The body left at a car park on the federal road B307 near Lenggries belonged to a 64-year-old man of Romanian nationality. This is reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung citing a statement from the criminal police. The man had no registered address in Bavaria.
The identification was made through cooperation with Romanian authorities: a comparison of fingerprints and photographs in police databases produced clear matches, according to the statement from the criminal police.
The body was found during the night of Sunday, 23 August. According to police, there are currently no signs whatsoever of a violent death. However, it remains unclear who left the body at the car park and where the man actually died.
The investigation is ongoing. The criminal police are asking anyone who made observations in the area of the B307 between Fall and the junction with the B13 during the night of Saturday, 22 August, to Sunday, 23 August, until approximately 1.25 a.m. to come forward — by calling 0881/64 00 at the Criminal Police Inspectorate Weilheim or at any other police station.
