Before the Osnabrück Regional Court, two men have had to answer since Tuesday for joint rape, assault, false imprisonment and serious robbery. According to ndr.de, the accused are said to have pulled a then 26-year-old woman into a thicket in Hasepark in August 2017 and abused her there.
According to the charges, the woman attempted to defend herself with a pocket knife, which the perpetrators took from her. They are then said to have cut up her clothing and used the fabric scraps to tie her up. With cash, the woman's smartphone and pocket knife, the men are said to have fled.
An initial proceeding had been discontinued in 2017 itself. It was only in 2024 that the case was reopened following a DNA match, according to the court. The two accused are now 28 and 31 years old.
