As part of the special task force "JuRex", the State Criminal Police Office of Saxony-Anhalt has searched the flat of a young far-right extremist in the state capital. He is suspected of breaching weapons legislation.
Weapons law suspicion: Investigators search flat of 18-year-old in Magdeburg
Investigators from the State Criminal Police Office of Saxony-Anhalt entered the flat of a young man in Magdeburg on 1 July 2026 with judicial authorisation. The 18-year-old, who is associated with the right-wing spectrum, has come under suspicion for possible breaches of weapons legislation.
The officers had assembled evidence from digital networks and further research that substantiated the suspicion. During the raid they found traces that are now being evaluated. Electronic storage media were also seized and are currently being examined.
The operation is part of the JuRex task force, which has been investigating politically motivated offences in Saxony-Anhalt since May of this year. The taskforce relies on both investigation and prevention in order to combat radicalisation and readiness to use violence among young people – regardless of whether they act in groups or alone.
Just a few weeks earlier, on 10 June, investigators had executed an arrest warrant in the same investigation context. The district court Gradelegen had issued this warrant.
