A man is suspected of blowing up machines in three cities using homemade explosives. He is being held in remand custody, and investigators found explosive precursors in his flat.

According to zeit.de, a man is suspected of blowing up machines in three cities in Baden-Württemberg using homemade explosives, causing damage worth several tens of thousands of euros. The suspect was arrested on Monday and has been in remand custody since then.
The offences took place at the end of November and mid-December 2025 in Zuzenhausen (Rhein-Neckar district), Herbertingen (Sigmaringen district) and Heidelberg, according to the public prosecutor's office and police. In Zuzenhausen and Heidelberg, the accused blew up cigarette machines and made off with cash and cigarettes.
In Herbertingen, the attack targeted a ticket machine. The man did not obtain any goods there, but caused damage of around 32,000 euros.
During a search of his flat, investigators found chemical precursors for the manufacture of explosives as well as already processed substances suspected of being explosive. The disposal service of the state criminal police office secured the material. A judge ordered remand custody on grounds of risk of flight.
