Two men in custody following robberies in Wolfratshausen, Murnau and Munich
Two suspects aged 19 and 21 are in remand custody. They are alleged to have committed multiple robberies across Bavaria in May and June.
Arrests following series of attacks on jewellery shops in Bavaria
Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of robberies in southern Bavaria, according to the Süddeutsche Zeitung. The suspects, aged 19 and 21, are currently in remand custody.
The series of offences began with a robbery on 20 May in Murnau: an unknown perpetrator threatened a man in his home with a firearm, struck him down and subsequently fled on foot with high-value watches.
On 12 June, two men entered a jewellery shop in Wolfratshausen in the morning. One of them threatened an employee with a firearm and demanded the surrender of valuables. The perpetrators escaped in this case without any stolen goods.
Five days later, on 17 June, a jeweller on Munich's Goethestraße was robbed. Officers from Munich police headquarters arrested two suspects as part of an immediate manhunt.
Further investigations by the criminal police in Weilheim and Garmisch-Partenkirchen established that the 21-year-old was allegedly also involved in the offences in Murnau and Wolfratshausen. The authorities are also examining whether he committed further offences elsewhere in Germany. The 19-year-old is suspected of being an accomplice in the robbery of the jewellery shop in Wolfratshausen.
