Two dead after shooting at commercial yard in Hamburg-St. Pauli

Two men died in the night of Wednesday following a shooting at a commercial yard in Hamburg-St. Pauli. A third injured person is not in life-threatening condition, according to WELT.
Witnesses heard gunshots late Tuesday evening on Lagerstraße near the S-Bahn station Sternschanze and called emergency services. Multiple police patrols rushed to the scene and found a lifeless 47-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. During a subsequent search of a building, emergency personnel discovered another fatally injured man, whose identity remained unclear at midday Wednesday.
A 48-year-old was seriously injured but had made his own way to a hospital before police arrived. Investigators believe the perpetrator and victims knew each other. The authorities initially provided no information on the exact background to the act.
The search involved more than two dozen radio patrol car units as well as a drone. The State Criminal Office for Organised Crime and the homicide squad have since taken over the investigation in close coordination with the public prosecutor's office. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
At the end of June, a hand grenade had detonated on the same premises on Lagerstraße, which unknown individuals had thrown onto the business grounds. The building and several vehicles were damaged in the blast. A police spokesperson stated that possible connections with the current incident were being examined.
