A man and a woman were shot dead on a courtyard in front of a residential building in Offenburg. Police have cordoned off Händelstraße widely and are investigating.
Two dead after shooting in Offenburg – police secure evidence
A man and a woman were killed in a shooting attack in Offenburg early in the morning. Emergency services discovered the two victims at around 8 o'clock on the courtyard in front of a multi-family building on Händelstraße.
According to a police spokesman who spoke to Bild, officers immediately provided first aid. Paramedics and an emergency doctor then took over the treatment of the woman. She was taken to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards. The man was already dead at the scene.
Police discovered a firearm near the scene of the incident. The exact circumstances of what happened have not yet been fully clarified. The identities of the two deceased are also not yet known.
Händelstraße was cordoned off over a wide area whilst investigators intensively secured evidence. According to current findings, police believe that no other persons were involved in the incident and that there is no danger to residents.
