A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a brutal assault near Banegården in Næstved. The victim, a 60-year-old man, has suffered a fractured skull and brain haemorrhages.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder of a 60-year-old man following an assault in the night to Friday in Næstved, according to TV 2 Nyheder.
According to the charge sheet, the accused kicked the victim at least 31 times in the head. The assault took place around 3 o'clock close to Banegården in Næstved.
– This is a matter of an incident that occurred approximately 3 o'clock last night in Næstved close to Banegården, says Eva Madsen, prosecutor at the South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police.
As a result of the kicks, the 60-year-old has suffered a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain. It is still unclear whether he is out of danger.
The court hearing was held in closed session at the Næstved Court this morning. The 19-year-old has subsequently been remanded in custody for four weeks.
