Police officers shoot 24-year-old man in leg during arrest in Haderslev
A 24-year-old man was shot in the leg by police during a pursuit in Haderslev on Wednesday morning. The man is not in life-threatening condition and has been admitted to hospital.
Shot fired during arrest in Haderslev city centre
Officers from South-East Jutland Police fired shots at a 24-year-old man in Haderslev on Wednesday morning, according to DR Nyheder. The man was hit in the leg and was subsequently taken to hospital, where according to police he is not in life-threatening condition.
South and South Jutland Police stated in a press release that patrols pursued the 24-year-old early in the morning and caused him to stop. In connection with the pursuit and the subsequent arrest, both warning shots and shots were fired.
The Independent Police Complaints Authority received notification shortly after ten o'clock and subsequently initiated an investigation into the case, according to the authority, as reported by Ritzau.
South and South Jutland Police announced shortly after twelve o'clock that they remained present in Haderslev city centre and expected to remain there for several hours. Police are investigating several locations in the town and have in this connection cordoned off Moltrup Landevej from the town boundary to the junction with Norgesvej. Additionally, Ribevej is cordoned off in the eastbound direction from E45 exit 68 at Hammelev as well as the junction Ribe Landevej/Elmevej in the westbound direction.
