Two men were arrested on Monday in a case concerning espionage in North Jutland, according to B.T. The two – aged 18 and 21 respectively – are to be brought before a constitutional law hearing at Aalborg Court on Tuesday afternoon, which began at 16:30.
North Jutland Police is investigating the case in cooperation with the Police Intelligence Service (PET). The two men are accused of breaching section 108, subsection 1 of the criminal code.
According to TV2 Nord, the men are accused of photographing the company My Defence on Hjørringvej in Nørresundby on Monday, together with several yet unknown perpetrators. The images were subsequently to be sent on to a user on the messaging service Telegram.
The prosecution assessed, according to TV2 Nord, that the images were intended for Russian intelligence services.
– This is a case we are looking at with great seriousness, says police inspector Sune Myrup, investigation leader at North Jutland Police, in a press release.
The prosecution has requested closed doors at the court hearing, and the judge has granted the request. The two men's possible statements will therefore not be made public. According to TV2 Nord, an interpreter is present in court, as the two men do not understand Danish – interpreting is being done into Russian.
