Three men arrested after unlawful detention in Himmelev near Roskilde
Three men aged 21, 22 and 45 respectively will appear on Friday at 12 o'clock in a bail hearing before Roskilde Court, after they were arrested and charged on Thursday evening with the unlawful detention of a 32-year-old man. This is reported by B.T. on the basis of a statement from Mid- and West Zealand Police.
According to the police district, the unlawful detention took place in and around Roskilde and lasted several hours. The 32-year-old was allegedly subjected to violence and threatened with a gun whilst being driven around the area in a car by several people.
Police assess that the case stems from a debt relationship, and that the purpose of the unlawful detention was to force the victim to pay a large sum of money.
On Thursday evening, police received information that the man had been abducted in Himmelev near Roskilde. A major police operation was launched, and the 45-year-old was stopped in a car and arrested shortly afterwards.
Around midnight, the 32-year-old was released. Shortly after this, police succeeded in stopping a car heading towards Ågerup with the two younger men, who were also arrested.
According to the police district, the prosecution expects to request closed doors during the bail hearing in light of the ongoing investigation.
