14 alleged criminals killed in seven days: another member of Los 1,600 gang dies
The National Police killed a man linked to the Los 1,600 gang on Thursday in Villa Faro, Santo Domingo Este, bringing the number killed to 14 in one week.

Agents of the National Police killed on Thursday an alleged criminal linked to the Los 1,600 gang in the La Esperanza neighbourhood, Villa Faro sector, Santo Domingo Este, according to reports from elnuevodiario.com.do.
The victim was identified only as Janel. He died during an alleged exchange of gunfire with police officers. Preliminary reports from authorities indicated that Janel was a member of the Los Bloke gang, a group supposedly operating under the umbrella of Los 1,600.
Members of that gang allegedly murdered two people on the previous Saturday in the Los Coquitos sector of Boca Chica, including urban artist Jesús Alexis Delgado Oritz, known as Diddy Glow.
With Janel's death, at least 14 alleged criminals have now been killed by police since last Friday. Between that Friday and Saturday, eight people died in reported confrontations in Azua, San Cristóbal, Santiago, Santo Domingo Este and Santo Domingo Norte.
So far this week, another six have died in incidents reported in Santo Domingo Norte, Santiago, Barahona, Los Alcarrizos and Villa Faro.
