Santos Franco Jiménez, 35, known as "Come Hombres de Los Frailes", died on Friday, 25 September following a confrontation with officers of the National Police in the Los Frailes II sector in Santo Domingo Este, according to infobae.com.
The operation was led by the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) and began around 6:10 in the morning, when agents were attempting to execute an arrest warrant—number 2026-AJ0015784—on Carlos Teo Cruz street. According to the official account, Jiménez opened fire on the agents with a Glock pistol, calibre 45, and the patrol responded to the gunshots.
The man was wounded in various parts of his body and was taken to the Dr. Darío Contreras Trauma Hospital, where he died around 6:32 in the morning while receiving medical care. At the scene, agents seized the Glock pistol, calibre 45, serial number MUU508, and four shell casings of the same calibre. The weapon was placed in custody for legal proceedings and corresponding ballistic analysis.
The Police stated that Jiménez was being sought for his alleged involvement in several crimes, including a homicide that occurred on 22 February. His records showed previous convictions for criminal association, homicide and theft. The institution did not specify whether the weapon seized had been subjected to ballistic analysis to determine its use in other incidents.

The case falls within a series of deaths recorded during police operations in different areas of the country throughout 2026. Data cited by Diario Libre indicate that by 21 September, 180 people had died in police interventions, an unofficial figure. According to the same media outlet, September accounted for at least 27 cases as of 22 of that month.
Among recent incidents was the death of Javier Mercedes Severino, alias "Javielito", 27, in Villa Guerrero, El Seibo province. The Police reported that he was being sought for attempted homicide and that he fired at DICRIM officers during a night-time operation. He died at the Doctor Teófilo Hernández Hospital.
In Villa Riva, Duarte province, Pedro Núñez, known as "Puli", also died after trading gunfire with agents during an intervention in the municipal district of Guaraguao, according to preliminary information gathered by Dominican media.
Jorge Luis Tissol Báez, alias "Yiro", linked by authorities to the structure known as "Los Fantasmas", died in San Pedro de Macorís. The Police attributed to that group alleged cases of contract killing, criminal association, drug trafficking and kidnapping.
Cristofer Almonte Díaz, alias "Niño", wanted under a court order relating to aggravated homicide in Santiago de los Caballeros, died according to the preliminary report after opening fire at agents from a vehicle on Avenida Circunvalación Norte.
The count also includes Jhoan Omar Leonardo Rodríguez, alias "Fugao", killed on the Pimentel-Nagua highway; Rolando Torres, nicknamed "el Coco", who died in Salcedo, and Luis David Fortuna Perdomo, known as "Caco de Leche", whom the Police linked to the death of a minor.
