Wife of Dominican merengue artist killed in attack at home
According to primerahora.com, the National Police of the Dominican Republic reported that Zeneida Socorro Castillo, 60, wife of artist Julián Oro Duro, died during an attack at her residence located in the Brisa Oriental 6 sector, on the San Isidro motorway in Santo Domingo Este.
Two individuals entered the couple's home. National Police spokesman Diego Pesqueira stated: "They killed her under circumstances that are still under investigation because we have to wait for the forensic police reports and the autopsy being carried out by Inacif".
The artist, identified as Gilberto Julián Sarante Perdomo, 58, suffered blows to various parts of his body and was referred to a medical centre for treatment.
The authorities are analysing the crime scene with camera records and conducting interviews in coordination with the Public Ministry. It is unknown whether there were other people in the home at the time of the attack. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
