Operation at Juan Dolio residential complex ends with arrest of German and seizure of weapons

A German citizen was detained following a raid at an exclusive residential complex in Juan Dolio, in the province of San Pedro de Macorís, according to infobae.com. During the operation, carried out Thursday morning, agents seized weapons, ammunition and tens of thousands of dollars in cash.

The procedure was conducted by the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DICRIM), with the presence of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The operation was executed under judicial order number 2026-AJ0085235, derived from request 2026-R1391654, and was directed against the residence of Nicola David Kahle, who was apprehended at the location.

Among the items seized were an assault rifle and a Glock-brand pistol calibre 9 millimetres. The National Police did not specify the model of the rifle or confirm whether the weapons had legal registration in the country.

The investigators also found 106 rifle cartridges and 35 munitions of different calibres, for a total of 141 projectiles, all forwarded for analysis.

As for the money, the operation resulted in the seizure of 34,200 dollars and 1,650 Dominican pesos in cash. The authorities did not specify where in the residence the cash was found or whether it was directly linked to any activity under investigation.

Kahle was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office along with the weapons, ammunition and money seized. The investigations remain open to determine the origin of the weapons and the possible destination of the cash, the Police reported.

The raid in Juan Dolio—a tourist zone in San Pedro de Macorís—is part of the security operations that Dominican authorities have intensified in recent weeks. The National Police and the Government have announced measures that include greater presence of agents on the streets, incorporation of new departments with better equipment and execution of pending arrest warrants.

The institution also applies a focused surveillance model in areas with a higher number of complaints, aimed at anticipating criminal acts. The Police did not report whether the Juan Dolio case could lead to further arrests, but reiterated that investigations into the origin of the weapons and the cash remain active.
