Four suspects planned assault-homicide of Julián Oro Duro hours beforehand

According to preliminary information from the authorities, Philips Michael Tejeda Vázquez (Leandro), Juan Carlos Hernández García (Peña), Kevin Dariel Guzmán Troncoso (Yandel) and Lawrence Marliranzo Marcos (Chiquito) met at the so-called "La Victoria crossing" during Sunday afternoon to coordinate how they would carry out the attack.
According to the preliminary investigation, it was "Chiquito" and "Yandel" who entered the home, primarily using the relationship of trust that the first maintained with the artist's family. The plan is believed to have been organised by "Leandro", who worked as the artist's general assistant—performing various domestic tasks—and therefore knew the location of valuables in the home.
Both remained in the residence from Sunday afternoon until early Monday morning. During that time, they killed Zeneida Socorro Castillo, the merengue artist's wife, and repeatedly struck Julián Oro Duro on the head, who remains hospitalised in a health centre in Santo Domingo Este.
Among the evidence recovered by investigators were a bundle belonging to the artist, a key to his vehicle and articles of clothing. Additionally, during a search at the residence of Juan Carlos Hernández García, approximately 240 dollars were seized, a sum which, according to preliminary information, he had received as an advance for his alleged participation in the incident.
