Two men wanted on arrest warrants presented themselves voluntarily on Saturday to the National Police in Santiago, according to acento.com.do.
The detainees were identified as Aníbal Taveras Luzón, alias "Aníbal", and Argenis Alejandro Taveras Genao, alias "Argenis". Both were wanted for their alleged involvement in the crimes of criminal association and homicide.
According to the police institution, the two men are being investigated in connection with the death of Alejandro Jean Peña Guzmán, who died on 26 January 2014 in the La Herradura sector in Santiago.
The surrender took place at the Homicide Division of Santiago. Taveras Luzón and Taveras Genao arrived accompanied by their legal representative and in the presence of journalists, following calls made by the authorities for them to appear voluntarily.
Both remain in police custody and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal proceedings.
