Jean Carlos Estrella Balbuena, alias "Gatillo Alegre", aged 34, voluntarily surrendered to authorities after remaining a fugitive since 30 November 2025, according to teleuniversotv.com. The suspect was placed under arrest after being taken by his own legal representative to the Homicide Division of the National Police.
Estrella Balbuena faces a court arrest warrant for alleged attempted murder against lawyer Carlos Ramón Almanzar, aged 45. The incident occurred on the evening of 30 November 2025, when the victim was with his partner on street number 6, corner of street 2, in the Cécara sector, Santiago.
According to statements from a brother of the victim, the accused reportedly fired several shots at Almanzar without warning, causing him multiple gunshot wounds.
Upon checking the detainee's records in the police system, authorities verified that he was listed as a fugitive from justice and had two previous convictions related to microtrafficking of controlled substances.
Estrella Balbuena will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for corresponding legal proceedings.
