Police officers shoot dead man with outstanding arrest warrant in Los Frailes II
The National Police shot dead a man identified as Jenny Santos Franco Jiménez, aged 35, on Friday morning on Carlos Teo Cruz street in the Los Frailes II sector, Santo Domingo Este municipality, according to diariolibre.com.
Santos Franco Jiménez, known by the alias "El come hombre de Los Frailes", had an outstanding arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0015784 for alleged involvement in various criminal acts, including a homicide recorded on 22 February of this year.
The incident occurred around 6:10 in the morning, when officers were conducting intelligence operations to locate the individual. According to the police report, the officers responded to an alleged assault and the man was struck by multiple bullet impacts.
Transferred to the Hospital Traumatológico Dr. Darío Contreras, Santos Franco Jiménez died whilst receiving medical attention, at approximately 6:32 in the morning.
At the scene, the officers seized a Glock pistol, calibre .45, and four cartridge casings of the same calibre, evidence submitted to the corresponding authorities.
Police records show the deceased had a history of criminal association, homicide and robbery. The circumstances of the confrontation are being documented by the competent authorities.
