Sammy Ciprián Gabriel rescued after being abducted outside his home in Santo Domingo Este

A four-year-old boy was found alive on Thursday night, hours after his family members alerted the authorities about his disappearance in the Los Tres Brazos sector of Santo Domingo Este. According to infobae.com, the National Police confirmed that the child, identified as Sammy Ciprián Gabriel, was located near Calle 42 in the Capotillo sector of the National District.

The case generated widespread attention after security camera footage installed in the sector circulated on social media. The images show a woman running with the child on her back, a scene that prompted the formal complaint from family members and the activation of search operations.

The boy had been reported as missing on Wednesday night. His relatives indicated that he was outside his home in Los Tres Brazos when a person took him. The surveillance video was incorporated immediately into the investigators' proceedings.

Following the discovery, Sammy was taken along with his mother, Chantal Gabriel Bonhomme, 31 years old, to the Police Palace. In a video released on social media, the woman expressed her gratitude for the police deployment that made it possible to locate her son.

The authorities did not specify how the child was identified or the exact circumstances under which he was found. The institution limited itself to confirming that he was safe and well.

The case was initially treated as a suspected abduction. The Police have not publicly established whether the person appearing in the recording is the same one linked to the child's location in Capotillo. A minor remains in custody in connection with the case, although the authorities have not provided details about her role or any possible accomplices.

Multiple questions have arisen in light of the lack of official information about the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrator and the existence of other possible suspects.

The investigation is being conducted by several areas of the National Police: the Department for Investigation of Crimes and High-Technology Offences (Dicat), the Human Trafficking unit, and the Department for Investigation of Missing Persons. The officers conducted interviews with family members and neighbours, as well as gathering records from security cameras near the child's home. These proceedings seek to reconstruct the boy's route from the moment he was last seen in Los Tres Brazos until his location in Capotillo.
